Water Quality & Health Disclaimer
How to read our product claims and water test results.
Last updated: November 3, 2026
1. Not medical advice
Information on this site, in our ads and in water test results is general information, not medical advice. Talk to a healthcare provider about health concerns related to water.
2. Product performance
We describe what our systems are designed to do. We do not claim that any system removes a specific contaminant, or meets an NSF/ANSI or other standard, unless that claim is supported by independent certification for that specific model, which we will identify by name and standard. [TBD: list certifications by model once documented.] Results vary with source water, usage and maintenance.
3. Our water tests
On-site tests measure a few basic parameters, such as pH, conductivity, TDS, salinity and temperature, with handheld meters or strips. They are screening tools, not a certified laboratory analysis, and do not test for bacteria, lead or most other contaminants. For a full analysis, use a state-certified laboratory.
4. Public water and wells
Public water systems are regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act; your utility publishes an annual water quality report. Private well owners are responsible for testing their own water. PURWTR is not affiliated with or endorsed by the EPA or any utility.
5. Maintenance
Filters must be replaced on schedule for the system to work as designed.
